Psalms 34:17-20

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.

In the Fish Lake National Forest in Utah there is a colony of quaking aspen, known as Pando, or the Trembling Giant.

On the western edge of the Colorado Plateau this single root system has been alive for unknown years, possibly since Noah’s flood.

Taken as a whole, all the individual trunks, branches and leaves weigh in at an estimated 6,600 tons: The heaviest known organism on the planet.

And it’s a tree, or, rather, trees, larger than any other plant and certainly any animal, covering 106 acres.

A single organism, sometimes being driven back by fire above ground but remaining alive below.  A single root system below ground that connects thousands upon thousands of aspen trees above.

Now consider that this enormous organism is tiny compared to our world, much smaller yet than the Milky Way, our Galaxy and the Milky Way is only a miniscule dot in the face of the universe.

There are other galaxies that are many times larger (150+) than our Galaxy and there are millions of galaxies that are millions of mile apart…

Do you feel tiny and insignificant yet?  Well don’t!

As small as we are in stature compared to all of God’s creation, realize this… It was just for you that the same powerful God gave up His own son to die.  Now that is important!

Romans 5:8
