Philippines 2:14
Do everything without complaining and arguing,
Snow again today! It the middle of April, and it has been snowing nearly every day for two weeks. It is depressing. Why is it depressing? Why am I complaining? Who am I complaining to?
Last June I was entertaining a group of guests on a mountain. We were up at about 11,500 ft in elevation and there was still snow on the mountain. We were looking for bighorn sheep on the cliffs above us but hadn’t been able to locate any. Finally after an hour of sitting, enjoying the view and talking I saw something move a half mile or so away from us.
Across the snow ran 6 bighorn lambs. They must have been laying in the rocks with their mothers and decided to come out and play. They ran and jumped for nearly and hour, back and forth across the snow. Through the binoculars and spotting scope you could see them kicking up their heals, jumping over one another and having a great time. Somehow they didn’t care that there was snow into June, they enjoyed it.
So here I am today looking at a white ground and complaining. Saturday is going to be seventy degrees and it will all be gone and I won’t have missed anything. Besides when it goes, the spring yard cleaning starts… What was I complaining about again?
Instead if complaining we should be praising God for His plans, no matter what we feel is best for us… He knows.
Philippines 4:7
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Just Let God have His way. We can go along with it and enjoy it, or we can fight it and be miserable. Which is better? I know we want our own way. But do we trust God? Do we really know that He has a plan?
