Separate Yourself

Psalm 15:1-2

O LORD, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart

This past week I saw someone selling moose antlers on the internet.  He didn’t have a price listed and when I inquired the price was considerably higher than I could afford.  The seller then responded with a much lower, much more attractive price.  And… When the seller told me the story of his desperate need for money to keep his family going, I agreed to his offer.

After several attempts we were able to transfer money to him… And that was the last I heard from him. I think I was scammed.

I’m hurt, I’m angry, I’m a little embarrassed and I’m becoming aware of how our world is being turned over to satan.

The last few days have made it perfectly clear (much more beyond this antler incident) that we are living in a time where there is no longer a line between right and wrong for the majority of people, but just a wide gray band.  Satan has blurred the difference between dark and light for the worldly…  They don’t really care about others, just their wants and desires.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 warns of what will become of those that don’t belong to Christ’s family in the last days…

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

As the children of God we need to be ever mindful that the world is watching.  Don’t allow anyone to think of us as those that live like the people described in 2 Timothy 3…  Be honest and trustworthy, looking out for others.

Separate yourself.
